Liberal Arts This course offers an in-depth examination of the news media and their effect on American society. The course is divided into three sections: The First Amendment and the philosophical roots of freedom of expression; contemporary issues involving press ethics, law, media technology, and economics; and the history of the press in America. Both print and broadcast media are studied.
