Liberal Arts A survey of drama in England from its origins in the liturgy of the Medieval Church, through the English Renaissance and the Restoration, to the present. Class discussions will focus not only on drama as literature but also on cultural history as it relates to theatre history. Playwrights studied may include Kyd, Marlowe, Jonson, Shakespeare, Congreve, Sheridan, Wilde, Shaw, Pinter, Osborne, Churchill, and Kane.
