Organized along topical lines, this course focuses on the evolution of American foreign policy. Beginning with the principles established in the early years of the Republic, it treats “Manifest Destiny,” America’s rise to world power, the conflict between political isolation and economic internationalism, and American diplomacy in the nuclear age.
