ATHT 104N - Introduction to Athletic Training 3 Credit(s)
Non Liberal Arts This introductory course in athletic training is designed for those interested in the Athletic Training major. The student will gain insight into the profession, the preparation of the athletic trainer, and the role of the athletic health-care professional in various settings. Discussions about other allied health-care professionals with whom the athletic trainer will work closely (PTs, EMTs, etc.) will be emphasized. This course will also introduce those interested in Athletic Training to the basic clinical techniques in dealing with prevention and management of athletic injuries and will include discussions on preventative wrapping and strapping, padding and bracing, and splinting and transportation.
