CMPT471N - Data Storage Architecture and Management 3 Credit(s)
Non Liberal Arts This course expands on computer architecture and networking concepts taught in previous classes and explores data storage architecture in more depth. It gives students a solid foundation in the many types of data storage technologies which are widely used to support a business strategy. Topics covered include the proper design and implementation methods for a data storage architecture, and the maintenance, retrieval & efficient use of data from storage devices in order to provide business insights. A hands-on approach is leveraged heavily in this course, with exercises that involve installation and configuration of storage technologies in a datacenter setting.
Prerequisite(s): CMPT 307N and an approved Architecture course (one of CMPT 321N , CMPT 422N , or CMPT 466N )
