It seeks to identify those qualities, stylistic and conceptual, which unify this collection of ancient Hebrew writings as well as those qualities which have made the Bible an all-time best seller. Attention will be given to the historical and cultural background, but the emphasis will be upon literary and aesthetic considerations. (Fulfills Ethnic/Global requirement for English Literature majors.)
