FYSH101L - Honors First Year Seminar 4 Credit(s)
Liberal Arts Honors First Year Seminar will introduce the student to the college and the Honors Program as an intellectual community. It will encourage them to acknowledge and to reflect upon ways that their work at the college will differ from their learning as high school students. The Honors First Year Seminar is grounded in interdisciplinary studies in one of four thematic categories: Cultural Diversity (CD), Nature & Environment (NE), Civic Engagement (CE), or Quantitative Reasoning (QR). Topics and texts are selected and studied in ways that will help Honors students become more competent and confident readers, writers, thinkers, creators, and collaborators. This course will also serve as one of the foundation courses for the Honors Program experience.
