MATH 130L - Introductory Statistics I 3 Credit(s)
Liberal Arts This course introduces the basic ideas and techniques of statistics including: descriptions of sample data; experimental design; sampling distributions of means and proportions (one, two, and paired designs); the normal and Student’s t distributions; nonparametric and parametric methods of estimation and of hypothesis testing; correlation and regression. Appropriate technology will be selected by the instructor. NOTE: This course may not be taken for credit by students who have completed MATH 330L or DATA 220L .
Offered When: Every semester. Prerequisite(s): Three years of high school mathematics or MATH 108L or satisfactory performance on the Mathematics Placement Test
