Liberal Arts This course is an examination of documentary film and video, both as a film movement and as a record of history. The course surveys the historical development of the documentary, to recent trends in documentary. Various aspects of the documentary will be explored, such as: documentary as social advocate, Cinéma Vérité, propaganda, and ethnographic uses. The impact of the documentary movement on society will be explored.
