This course focuses on a concentrated area of television studies, utilizing classroom screenings, selected readings, seminar discussions, and the development of a critical writing project. Possible topics include: genres (e.g., situation comedies, dramas, westerns); television auteurs (e.g., Norman Lear, Stephen Bochco); and national television (e.g., British, American), and themes. May be taken up to three times under different topics.
