PHIL243L - Knowledge & Reality 3 Credit(s)
Liberal Arts Two of the great questions of philosophy are: (1) What is the world like? and (2) How do we know about the world? These are the questions of metaphysics and epistemology, respectively. In this class, we will explore these two questions in turn. In the first half of the term, we will focus on metaphysical questions: personal identity, free will, realism, and possible worlds. In the second half of the term, we will turn to epistemological questions: truth & justification, foundationalism & coherentism, and skepticism.
Prerequisite(s): PHIL 101L
