PHIL247L - Contemporary Moral Problems 3 Credit(s)
Liberal Arts In this course, we will explore the most prominent theoretical perspectives on ethics: utilitarianism, Kantian ethics, virtue ethics, natural law theory, and social contract theory. We will then turn to topics of contemporary moral concern that mat include abortion, free speech, drug use, euthanasia, racism, social media, diet and climate change. The class will be based on discussion and debate, informed by the readings.
