Health psychology is an applied field focused on understanding psychological influences on health and illness. This course examines social, cultural, and behavioral factors affecting well-being including the impact of stress on the immune system, the influence of stigma on health, and the relationship between thought and health behaviors. Other topics include chronic illness, substance use and addiction, and health disparities.
