This course examines the significance of Jesus of Nazareth as portrayed in the Gospels and New Testament letters. In conjunction with a critical contemplation on Jesus and his call to humanity, the course will systematically reflect on the distinct yet complementary meanings of discipleship. Thus, the consideration of Jesus and discipleship will reflect the views of believing Christians as well as other people of good will. These areas will be addressed in different historical settings and taken from various perspectives as readings will come from the Judeo-Christian Scriptures, historical documents, and contemporary texts.
