Liberal Arts Introduction to Social Work is intended as a foundation for students interested in working toward the bachelor of science degree in Social Work. It is a prerequisite for all other courses required in the Social Work major. This course is appropriate for any student interested in the expanding field of the helping services and professions. Students will be introduced to the history of social welfare and the social-work profession. The purpose and goals of social-work practice in a changing society will be studied.
