Dual listed with SOC 326L  This course introduces students to the social issue of violence within families including intimate partner violence. A cross-disciplinary approach will be used to understand family violence as a critical and complex social and legal problem. The course seeks to develop an understanding of the varied dynamics of family violence and to critique the myths and stereotypes associated with it. Other types of interpersonal violence such as school bullying and gang violence will be explored.
