SOCW330L - Social Service: Theory & Practice

This course explores a variety of theoretical perspectives that direct the social-work helping process. Theories examined include systems, ecological, feminist, ethnic sensitive, and strengths. These theories are examined from an historical perspective and for their value base relative to agency-based practice and research. The interaction of the social worker with the social-service delivery system is explored and analyzed through the completion of an agency assessment. Students complete a 50-hour internship as part of this course.
