COM432N - Advertising Portfolio Development 2 3 Credit(s)
Non Liberal Arts An advanced portfolio development course that will build upon what was learned in COM 354N . The following topics will be explored: conceptual thinking, originality of the idea, art direction, copywriting, presenting and critiquing. Students will conceptualize the “big idea,” apply that idea to a selection of media and fully execute their work. Industry competition briefs are part of the course assignments. This is a hands-on course where students will strive to develop a stellar portfolio presented as a personal website, an absolute necessity for securing a job in the creative side of the advertising industry. The semester culminates with a portfolio review session with industry professionals.
Prerequisite(s): COM 354N Minimum Grade or GPA: a minimum grade of B- in COM 354N or instructor approval
